THE NATIONS, NATIONALITIES AND PEOPLES DAY

Last December, 8th of 2009 (December, 29th of 2002 in Ethiopian Calendar) I assisted in the 4th edition of The Nations, nationalities and peoples day, with my friend and travel partner, Cristina Senserrich, an incredible culture and music festival created by the ethiopian government in order to send peace, respect and union messages to the local people. This celebration took place in Dire Dawa, the main city of the Est part of the country. Many different ethnic groups from every single part of the country are coming to this special event to share their music, traditions and culture with their neighbours. It is important to know that Ethiopia is a country formed by more than 80 nations and has got more than 85 different languages around. According to this information, it is a perfect chance to realize how culturally rich and interesting country Ethiopia is seeing this colorful Festival.
